Exhibition Date: 5 – 26 March 2026

Life Lately

This exhibition is about the fleeting moments, the "did that just happen?" reality of right now.  It’s capturing the “in betweens”, “the intimacy of the everyday”, or even, the ordinary.

Forget the polished filters because this is about the quiet (but somehow loud) moments that make up life. It’s taking a look outside from the comforts of home, sketches and imaginings, fitting shoes, how flowers dry up, and how light hits the house at certain times of the day.

Featuring various styles and media, the exhibition highlights works which capture surroundings, rendering common sense irrelevant, and pushing the boundaries of how we see things around us.

Damaris Chua retains inspiration through a design sketch while Daniel Evangelista renders the sensation of perfectly-fitting shoes. Jaspher Penuliar reproduces with realistic precision things that are often ignored while Kevin Balboa magnifies withered flowers, turning them to memories worth keeping. Mark Hernandez renders that exact moment when one takes a glimpse of what’s happening beyond the walls of one’s house while Omar Ramos paints the diverse emotions that take place under a single roof. Finally, RV Basco portrays imaginings and dreams as reasons to live each day fully.

Life Lately is on view at Kate Contemporary, Calle de Jorge Juan, 64, Madrid from 16 April - 8 May 2026.
