In his debut solo exhibition in Madrid, Chino Yulo presents Los colores de las Meninas, a collection that highlights his distinctive approach to color, balance, and texture. Drawing on his background in furniture making, Yulo’s work seamlessly blends form and material, reflecting harmony and natural influences.
This exhibition explores Yulo’s skillful manipulation of angles, colors, and perspectives, evoking the essence of Velázquez’s Las Meninas. His sculptures, crafted from wood, acrylic, metal, and resin, challenge viewers to shift perspectives, much like the depth seen in Velázquez’s masterpiece.
After successful showings at Art Fair Philippines and Maison et Objet in Paris, Yulo’s Madrid exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience his work in dialogue with Las Meninas at the Museo del Prado, inviting a deeper reflection on form, flow, and balance.
