An architect by profession, Quiban is a Filipino self-taught mood landscape artist based in Singapore. With his masterful use of color, light, and shadow, his work can be described as impressionist. His landscapes evoke a broad spectrum of emotions, reflecting a personal relationship with painting that began as a way to render in art what he himself was experiencing. This Madrid collection, however, demonstrates the maturity of his practice, with texture employed to add further depth and character to his compositions.
