Render/Resolve

Updated: Jun 20

Exhibition Date: 25 June - 31 July 2025

Render/Resolve brings together the distinct yet converging practices of Arnold Lalongisip, JM Saycon, and AR Manalo, artists united by their disciplined pursuit of form, restraint, and resolution. Working within monochromatic palettes, each artist renders their vision through deliberate, meticulous means, underscoring the power of limitation to reveal depth, clarity, and complexity.

Arnold Lalongisip’s compositions, often grounded in organic forms and natural structures, employ acrylic with a quiet precision that mirrors his contemplative themes. JM Saycon juxtaposes classical motifs with contemporary surfaces, transforming marble-like figures into modern icons through his masterful command of value and illusion. AR Manalo embraces stark contrasts and multiple layers in his mixed-media artworks, where light and shadow become the architecture of emotion and thought.

In the exhibition, monochrome becomes a methodology, a rigorous filter through which perception is tested, and intentions are refined. To “render” is not simply to depict, but to labor through form with patience. To “resolve” is to distill chaos into clarity. Render/Resolve is an ode to the discipline of seeing, where detail becomes narrative, and precision becomes poetry. Together, the artists demonstrate that constraint can become liberation, and within the grayscale lies a spectrum of powerful expression.
